Welcome back to The Weekly Joke, the newsletter where your votes matter like Wi-Fi in a coffee shop! (Looking at you St. Pete, FL. Coffee shops there want people to suffer).
In this episode:
Shōgun says it is honorable to read this newsletter (and I dare you to disagree with a Shōgun)
The Weekly Joke (I’ve got some updates on jokes that landed better than a perfect pancake flip 😍)
Interview with Anya Taylor-Joy 😍 and Chris Hemsworth 😍
Did-dy really do that?
This Comic of the Week had me opening up for her

If Lord Toranaga were alive today (or even a real person), he’d bestow the honor of Hatamoto to you for reading this newsletter.
For those watching Shōgun, wow. What. A. Show. For those who aren’t, hurry up before I flood this newsletter with more heart-eye emojis 😍
Shōgun is an incredible show on Hulu set in the 1600s. Lord Yoshii Toranaga is battling his political enemies. Could a so-called barbarian from London save his life? Watch to find out. Or just keep binge-watching Sex and the City or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. That’s cool, too.
Welcome back to The Weekly Joke, where I drag you into my wild world as a comic. You get to vote on which jokes I bring to the stage and absolutely slay (or, you know, bomb spectacularly).
1. The Weekly Joke
Oh, do I have a treat for you! Last week I couldn't provide a video update of the winning joke. Blame it on...wait, I said I’d take more accountability for my actions. Blame it on...I’ll get back to you. But this week, I've got my performance of that joke plus the winner of this past week's vote! Happy days 👏 Here they are:
I think it's bad advice when people say DON'T reach out to exes...
And, from the newsletter episode last week, you all decided on option B:
You know how some people make marriage pacts in their 20s? Yeah, young people, stop doing that.
Now, onward! The joke options for this week:
Joke A: Growing up Catholic was interesting…I was an altar boy…
Joke B: If you are a woman and you agree with Harrison Butker’s graduation speech…
2. Word on the Street
Check out Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
It’s pretty much life goals to interview Anya Taylor-Joy or Chris Hemsworth. Interviewing them together felt like an internal explosion bigger than the ones in their new movie Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Seriously, I think I blacked out talking to them.
As an on-camera host for Cinemark Theaters, I get to screen movies early and interview the cast before the premiere. Talk about perks! Solid film! Check out the chat below.
Comedian, influencer Desi Banks takes on Diddy apology
Desi Banks is a comedian who skyrocketed to fame with his hilarious hood skits on social media. Recently, he made a funny spoof about P Diddy’s apology after a video surfaced of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie. While many people thought the spoof was comedy gold, not everyone was laughing. Check out the video and see for yourself:
What are your thoughts? Should he have left this topic alone or is it comedy and completely fair game? Your votes are confidential, so don’t worry, no one is coming for you.
3. Comic of the Week
There’s no better feeling than when someone believes in you! My former instructor at Flappers University—the comedy club where I honed my craft—asked me to open up for her, and let me tell you, the show was legendary! I crushed it for a solid eight minutes, and then she swooped in and crushed an entire hour. Talk about setting the bar high!
(Cue the dramatic announcer voice) And now, drum roll please...the Comic of the Week is Kaycee Conlee! Check out her IG, she’s very funny and a really nice person.
That’s all folks! (Bugs Bunny voice)
